BDSM in Boston

The name of this blog - The Pervocracy - should alone be enough to entice kinksters. This is a fascinating feminist sexblog aimed at the BDSM community, and all articles are refreshingly sex-positive. So who is the power behind The Pervocracy? This is a personal blog charting the experiences of Cliff Pervocracy. The author says that "he" prefers the "he-type" pronouns, so we shall use those here. Cliff describes himself as 27-year-old living in the Boston area. His gender is "complicated, but some variety of transmasculine". Cliff's day job, according to the blurb, is working in a hospital emergency room. But his true identity is that of an "all-round completely horny slut". Again, it's refreshing to see this kind of honesty - and immediately makes one want to read more. What else do we learn about Cliff? Well, he is in a polyamorous relationship, and his boyfriend Rowdy (whom we're told has an appendage like a "coke can" - well, hello there!) is a recurring character on the site.. Rowdy has also written guest blogs. Additionally, you can expect to meet a regular cast of five other intriguing characters - Artemis, Sprite, Tommy, Alan, and Benny. Cliff has had associations with all of these men and women in his never boring, always kinky celebration of polyamory. Unfortunately, The pervocracy hasn't been updated since July 2018 (the date of the last post). However, it still represents a candid, informative resource on sexuality and kink - offering some great advice, always laced with wicked humour. His sexual shenanigans are a joy to read. Previous posts include some very witty commentary on the widely critically panned Fifty Shades of Grey, and a very engaging 30-day kink diary, which is well worth reading. Moreover, you can expect to find much-needed critiques of online sexism and media representation of the kink/BDSM lifestyle. It's also well worth checking out The Pervocracy for its list of online kink resources in the Boston area. And better still, Cliff provides four worksheets on kink, sex, and relationships that he's used in talks over the years.

Boston Unbuttoned is a free blog with the goal of helping people find sex-positive events and Boston, Massachusetts - and surrounding areas. This is a much-needed, well-presented web resource for both experienced kinksters and those just starting out and looking to meet and mingle with like-minded people. Boston Unbuttoned has a clear mission. Its goal is to promote consensual, sex-positive pursuits. Crucially, it recognises the diversity of our communities and is committed to helping people forge meaningful connections. Above all, Boston Unbuttoned stands for a bold, unapologetic, inclusive celebration of all the wonderful, varied forms of sexual expression out there. The goal is to inspire people to explore their sexuality to its full potential in a safe, supportive environment - and it shows you just how you can go about this in Boston. The blog notes that erotic culture in Boston can be tough to find and access. While the city is a vibrant, cosmopolitan centre, the sensual delights on offer are initially not as evident as in west coast cities like Seattle and that bastion of sexual freedom San Francisco. However, Boston Unbuttoned assures its readers that an erotic community most certainly does exist in Boston. It's just more challenging to find it. What's the reason for this, it muses. Perhaps it has something to do with Boston's Puritan heritage. But both residents and visitors need not ***. Plenty is going on in Boston for the sexual libertine. Sex-positive events are listed on Boston Unbuttoned's calendar. There's also a separate page listing 'Boston-Area Lush Life Events'. Here you can find links to meetups and links to other websites, such as Poly Boston, for the polyamorous. Boston Unbuttoned also lists classes and kink/sex education within the area. This includes Sex Education Institutes in nearby states, live workshops, and a link to the Kink Academy, which is a superb resource for online sex education videos. Additionally, you'll find a page on local fetish gear providers and links to resources that will help your spiritual and personal growth. Visit this lovingly curated blog, and you won't remain buttoned up for long.

New England Leather Alliance supports all leather lovers through advocacy, education, and charitable provisions. The organisation is dedicated to providing a safe environment for pansexual leather enthusiasts and fetishists across the world. On the alliance's website, you'll find a wide range of information and support aimed at building a strong, united community. The alliance also offers support for survivors of BDSM *** and consent ***s. The strength of New England Leather Alliance is its diversity. It includes all groups of people from gay and straight to trans and everything in between. Both singles and couples are involved. And you certainly won't find any ageism here. It's a prejudice free zone. New England Leather Alliance's standout events are its Fetish Fair Fleamarkets. This market is now the biggest fetish event in New England. Here you'll find a huge number of leather vendors and community groups catering to every taste. They also recruit volunteers. And this is the perfect way to mingle with like-minded kinksters and forge meaningful connections with a welcoming leather community. Check out the website for the next scheduled markets, classes, and courses. The alliance has a long and respected history. It began back in 1991 in Boston. The early 1990s was a particularly challenging period for leather fetishists, with significant police harassment. The organisation was formed in response to a police raid on a private home used as a dungeon. The community banded together and began to put mechanisms in place to protect themselves and build awareness. There were soon regular Saturday meetings, and the group has since built a formidable reputation. The best way to get involved is by attending the monthly board meetings. These are open to all. Here you can contribute to the leadership and direction of New England Leather Alliance. People are invited to help out with everything from artistic contributions to accounting and community relations. A New England Leather Alliance Associate Card costs $25 for one year, and $40 for two years. It not only welcomes you into an active community but gives you free entry to the Fetish Fair Fleamarkets.

Good Vibrations has over 40 years of experience selling high-quality sex toys and other sex-related productions. During this time, it has also built a formidable reputation for providing sexual health information. As part of this, it offers a diverse and stimulating range of regular workshops and sex and fetish educational events at its stores across the United States, including its Good Vibrations Boston store. As well as selling every type of sex toy one could imagine, Good Vibrations Boston is firmly committed to sexual empowerment. The store has steadfastly celebrated sex-positivity over the years - and continues to do so. It embraces all genders and sexual orientations and is centred on providing support for anyone who wants to enhance their sexual experiences. Recognising that sexual stigma is a destructive ***, Good Vibrations Boston provides a safe, non-judgmental environment in which kinksters can meet and explore their fantasies. Sex-positive people from all backgrounds and ages can learn more about their bodies at Good Vibrations Boston workshops. It must be noted that these are not play parties. The workshops and events are for purely educational purposes only. That said, they are always fun and friendly. Previous workshops have covered many topics. These range from BDSM basics to cannabis in sex, oral sex tips, regular ladies' nights, spanking workshops, tarot cards and sex, women's sexual arousal, and even tours of well-known sex museums. Many of these workshops are free. The workshops are open to all. Some have more of an emphasis on women and sexuality. But there are also events aimed at all genders, and celebrations of trans identity. Before the establishment of Good Vibrations four decades ago, sex shops were often considered dark and seedy. They were all too frequently associated with shame. The company boldly transformed the idea of what a sex shop should look like. Consequently, the Good Vibrations Boston store is bright, clean, joyful places, offering an eclectic range of sex toys, books, and films. The workshops offer a great space in which to re-connect with not only your body but with a broader kink community.

Hubba Hubba Boston has been selling cutting edge clothing since 1979. Since then, it has also become known as Boston's kinkiest boutique store. This treasure trove of saucy delights gives you the tools and inspiration to make a lasting impression - both in and out of the boudoir, or, indeed, the dungeon! Hubba Hubba Boston is not concerned with the 'ordinary' or the 'normal.' It consistently rejects such terms. This shop is all about making an impact. It's about being quirky and unforgettable. And outrageously, fabulously kinky. The store is rooted in punk and rock fashions. Punk is an attitude; it's the exponent of a 'Do It Yourself' ethos. It's about tearing up the rules and boundaries and creating your own fashions - not just in what you wear but in the way you live your life. Punk pays no heed to what is deemed 'acceptable.' And it steadfastly challenges tedious and inhibiting conventions such as class and patriarchy. In other words, it does all the things that a bold kink and fetish lifestyle should do. Consequently, daring kinksters will find their natural home in Hubba Hubba Boston. So what can you expect to find in the store? First and foremost, it is known for its staggering array of corsets - the largest selection in the area. There's also a vast collection of hosiery and lingerie to choose from, meaning there is absolutely no excuse to become predictable in your bedroom attire. As well as all the sexy clothing, Hubba Hubba Boston offers a superb range of vibrators and other sex toys and BDSM equipment to take your shenanigans to an altogether different level. Whether you're looking for tools for impact play, sensation play, chastity, pegging, or even a bit of electrostimulation, you will find it here. Better yet, many of these products are handmade locally, meaning you're supporting the fetish community. The shop was founded 40 years ago by Susan Phelps, and is now owned by MJ Pullins and Reign Fure. But the friendly, welcoming - and unapologetically kinky - atmosphere that marked it out when it first started trading is still there in abundance.
