Dates in Kettering

Can someone please explain to me how come I start talking to someone and all of a sudden they just stop replying 🤔 it's happened a lot.
I could be asking a question or replying to a question and I see they have read my reply, I'll even leave it for several days before I try to follow up, but they completely ignore me.
Is this a normal thing?
