BDSM in New Orleans

In the heart of New Orleans’ famously open-minded nightlife scene, Colette New Orleans stands as one of the city’s most recognizable private swingers clubs. As part of the nationally known Colette Club brand, the New Orleans location brings a members-only, upscale lifestyle experience to adults exploring consensual swinging and sex-positive social connection in a discreet environment. Colette New Orleans operates as a private social club rather than a public bar or nightclub. Entry requires approved membership, age verification, and agreement to the club’s clearly defined house rules. These rules place strong emphasis on consent, discretion, and respectful interaction. The club maintains attendance policies tailored to different events, ensuring a balanced and welcoming atmosphere for all members, in line with Colette’s nationwide operating model. The venue is designed to support both socializing and consensual adult play. Members can connect in lounge-style areas or participate in designated play spaces when there is clear, mutual consent. Participation is never expected or assumed. Members are free to observe, socialize, or engage at their own comfort level, reinforcing the club’s focus on choice and personal boundaries. Consent culture is a foundational element of Colette New Orleans. All interactions beyond conversation require explicit mutual agreement, and staff are present during events to put in place club rules and maintain a respectful atmosphere. Photography and recording are prohibited to protect member privacy. Dress codes and themed event guidelines vary by night and are communicated in advance so members understand expectations before arriving. Colette New Orleans hosts a rotating calendar of lifestyle events and themed nights, offering variety while maintaining consistent standards around conduct and discretion. These events are designed to encourage connection and exploration within a controlled, adult-only setting that prioritizes comfort and trust. Importantly, Colette New Orleans is a swingers club focused on consensual adult play, ethical non-monogamy, and social interaction within clearly defined boundaries. For those exploring swingers clubs in New Orleans and seeking a private, well-established venue with a strong national reputation, Colette New Orleans remains a prominent option in the local lifestyle scene. In the vibrant heart of New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood, The Happy Kitten Portal has established itself as one of the city’s most creative and inclusive spaces for kink, art, and erotic exploration. Known simply as The Portal, it’s a private community dungeon and art studio that blends fetish culture with performance, education, and self-expression — embodying the free-spirited energy that defines New Orleans itself. The Happy Kitten Portal was founded by Mistress Genevieve, a renowned professional Dominatrix, BDSM educator, and performer who has been an influential figure in the New Orleans kink scene for more than two decades. Her vision was to create a venue where sexuality, creativity, and empowerment intersect — a place for classes, play parties, art installations, and private sessions within a safe and consensual framework. The Portal offers a variety of events, workshops, and immersive experiences, including themed play parties, erotic art shows, and BDSM education nights. The space welcomes kinksters, artists, and curious newcomers alike. Consent and respect are at the core of every event. Inside, the space is both functional and theatrical — filled with professional BDSM equipment and custom-built furniture including bondage rigs, crosses, spanking benches, and performance stages. The décor reflects the eclectic, gothic charm of New Orleans: velvet d***s, glowing lights, and sensual art installations that transform the dungeon into a living gallery. Membership or RSVP is required for most events. Attendees must review house rules and adhere to community standards of safety, etiquette, and mutual respect. Photography and recording are strictly prohibited without consent, and sexual activity is allowed only within negotiated and respectful boundaries. Beyond being a play space, The Happy Kitten Portal serves as a hub for education and community connection. Mistress Genevieve and other local educators host classes on rope bondage, power dynamics, fetish etiquette, and the psychology of dominance and submission. These workshops help build a culture of understanding and growth within the New Orleans kink community.
