Bowser was and is a legitimate king. Take yourself out of the narrative.

1. He built and maintained infrastructure throughout the Koopa Kingdom to an impressive degree.

2. Bowser is a fair leader/ruler as the Koopa Kingdom itself presents itself, to the outside observer, as it is a multi species nation with very little species on species ***.

3. Mario and Luigi are terrorists/partisans who committ genocide on multiple species of sentient beings and wantonly destroy, illegally trepress in, and engage in widespread thieve the housing and infrastructure of the Koopa Kingdom.

4. Mario and Luigi supposedly are engaging in this military campaign/rescue attempt in the name of love. Yet.. the only thing we hear from Princess Peach is:
“THANK YOU MARIO!
YOUR QUEST IS OVER.
WE PRESENT YOU A NEW QUEST.”
That’s hardly the reaction error ***ed victim would have after her supposed abductor is killed in front of her.

(Reference note: I was given this take on the OG SMB over drinks at a conference/training event that was a game. The acquaintance SAID they read this in an academic journal or in conference paper, but I have yet to find it. Google ai played it off as a fanfic and it’s been bouncing around for years)

I wasn’t wondering if anyone in this group and community was involved in academic research of games in any discipline at the undergraduate, masters, or PhD level?

If anybody is out there, I would like to connect. I’m currently doing thesis work in the field of digital learning games. But I started writing academically about games in 2011 on a different thesis(MAESL) about using a virtual environment of MMORPGs for language acquisition.(Using SWG and SW:ToR as models(the live era of SWG in 2004-2007 is one gave me the idea for the thesis)).

As I can’t talk about the nature of my current thesis for a variety of reasons in open forms like this, feel free to DM me if you are the same. All the same, drop a line in group just so people can see there is an actual community of us on the app.

As the munch scene near uni was not a sea of unknown faces, I’m guessing there might be a few people in this group that wanna bullshit, argue, and have some laughs.

I forgot how much I love to hate settlement building in Fallout 4. It really tests the masochistic side of my gaming and makes me miss the building systems in Once Human and Enshrouded.

Is anyone playing bg3 that wants to try a co-op game? I haven't done that yet

Rediscovering some classic RPGS, Wizxardry1 and wizardry 6,7,8 were on sale for DIRT cheap, so once I get the cool things out of D4 going back to the roots of classical RPGS.
