I might be wrong, but I see it simple:
if 2 Weiterlesen… person are fairly local or willing to travel for first meet up in public place for a meal or social drink - in my mind it's a win-win situation for both. Even if they do not work out - they both atleast had experience to meet different person and most likely gain a new real life friend with you you could chat in future via text or pub, etc.
Why need to drag things and get cought in this texting thing for months, then meet up in not safe setup (because you think you chatted online much with person, but never met in reality) and then if it doesn't work out - you both waisted a lot of time and power and that's in best scenario cause it could get very dramatic.
Why can't just book a table, go out to restaurant / cafe (public place) have a real life face to face chat like a normal human beings and then you could continure texting or whatever if things go well and meet more as agreed?
Or it's just me getting old and stupid?
